The farmhouse to the south (see last section) owns the thermal baths and the refugios referred to on the JLM map. There are two refugios in the area, one near the thermals that is commonly rented out, and one marked as private on the JLM map. The one nearest to the termas (see the pictures below) offers little for the rent asked. For 8000 pesos per night (quoted for two people - it may hold around 8 to sleep ) renters can have access to a wood stove, kitchen sink, tables, chairs and the thermal baths. There is nothing in the way of bedding or even a raised sleeping platform, but rental does include the key to the El Callao termas baths ( pictured above - 1500 pesos per person if not renting the refugio ). Camping is charged at 500 pesos per night per person. (Includes a pit toilet and a trash bin.) The other one is referred to as an 'abandoned farmhouse' (pictured above) in the Lonely Planet hiking guide, but it may be available to rent. It used to be the home of the family that lives in the new farmhouse. Both are in very good condition.
To reach the termas from the new farmhouse the family has built a new log bridge over the Rio Sin Nombre which can be found by following the signs down a fairly new but muddy track. It may improve with time but for now is a pretty dangerous effort. The log itself is solid and sturdily placed but access to it from either end requires an extremely steep descent and climb; with a backpack on there is little room for error. Once across the bridge, the path leads out onto meadowland, makes a signed turn to the north and shortly arrives at the smaller refugio, campspot and thermal baths house. The thermal baths are on the river down a short flight of stairs to the south of the refugio.
