The friendly people at El Diablito mini-mercado sell staple foods, ice cream, cigarettes and alcoholic drinks. Buying from them means a weary hiker can enjoy a seat with a view (the picture to the left was taken from here) in the shade of one of their sun canopies while licking a cold ice cream or downing a chilly beer, they'll even provide a glass to drink it. The store is always closed, but there isn't much passing trade. Ringing the bell by the mini-mercado door provides a reponse and an open shop.
The road onwards to El Poncho is fairly unremarkable, the quality of the road rises and passes Puerto Rico, a hamlet with a B&B. Another 45 minutes to an hour of walking with one small climb leads to El Poncho.
