c. Crossing the Rio Manso

Shortly after the church, a school ( Escuela ) appears on the left of the road, shortly after that comes the first footbridge. It's a pretty dramatic affair, only slightly spoiled when we were there by the derelict orange car on the near bank. If you choose not to cross here there is a further foot crossing at the far end of the road in El Manso. Crossing here will allow you to walk through local farm and woodland, we saw much more wildlife on the non-road side and it's much more pleasant to walk away from vehicles and under the shade of the trees. It also takes you closer to the waterfall further down the valley.
