k. Crossing the Argentina-Chile border

The border is in a meadow, the only marker is the red pilon on your left up a hill, the only welcome and congratulations for your achievement comes from the cows. Shortly after the meadow the river re-appears along with a very tempting bridge. DON'T CROSS IT. All that's over there is some sheep and an infrequently used grass landing strip. Instead continue along the main path and over the small stream towards the 'town' of El Leon.
